Meet Our New Apprentice: Lucas Passman

At Crowy’s Electrical, we’re proud to invest in the next generation of local tradespeople, and we’re excited to welcome 19-year-old Lucas Passman to the team as our newest electrical apprentice. Lucas was born in Queensland but moved to Gunnedah when he was just two years old, making Gunnedah home for most of his life. When he’s not working, one of his favourite things to do is get out fishing — but now he’s also starting an exciting new chapter in his electrical career.

From Rail Signals to Electrical Apprenticeship

Before joining Crowy’s Electrical, Lucas was part of the signals team working on the rail network with ARTC, where he gained experience carrying out electrical work. His interest in becoming an electrician started well before that. “At school I liked science, woodwork and metalwork. Plus, I’ve always loved problem-solving, so becoming an electrician was perfect for me.” That combination of practical skills, problem-solving and an interest in how things work made electrical work a natural fit for Lucas.

Starting His Apprenticeship at Crowy’s

Lucas has now made the move to Crowy’s Electrical to begin his electrical apprenticeship and continue developing his skills across the wide range of work our team takes on throughout Gunnedah, Narrabri, Tamworth and surrounding areas. One of the things Lucas is particularly looking forward to is learning from the experienced people around him. He says Zac’s business and people skills will be some of the most valuable things he learns during his apprenticeship, alongside developing his electrical knowledge. “I think Zac’s great business and people skills are definitely going to be some of the most valuable things I can learn from him, besides all his electrical knowledge.”

Learning, Growing and Getting Out of His Comfort Zone

Although Lucas is only just starting his apprenticeship, he’s already enjoying the opportunity to learn new things and challenge himself. “Besides getting to work with such a great team every day, I’ve really enjoyed getting out of my comfort zone, learning and doing things I haven’t before.” For us at Crowy’s, that attitude is exactly what we love to see in a young apprentice. An apprenticeship is about much more than learning the technical side of the trade — it’s about developing confidence, problem-solving skills, working as part of a team and gaining experience on the job. We’re looking forward to watching Lucas develop his skills and knowledge over the coming years and seeing where his electrical career takes him.

Welcome to the Team, Lucas!

We’re excited to have Lucas on board and look forward to helping him build a strong foundation for his career as an electrician.

If you see Lucas out and about on the job, be sure to say hello.
